The DII is plenty powerful, probably no need for you to have a medical grade, but if you ever do want more power and want to trade up, you have that option.  I would offer you the medical grade for $6500.

There are two videos on our website http://dermaglow.com/microdermabrasion-video/ that show the Dermaglow II open, with cartridges being installed, explain capacities and power etc.  You will receive 20 – 25 treatments per cartridge and filter – with a cost per treatment of about $1.25 with the half price for life promotion.  The power on the machine is medical grade for most manufacturers at 27 mercuries per inch or about 690 Kelvins.  You could carve your initials on a client with this machine, but what power really does for you is create lifetime clients because regardless of how frequent your clients come back, there is always more power.   Most of our clients will never push it above 10.

I was thinking from a Sales point of view when I am teaching CEU,s that showing the Dermaglow I have, which I have included pictures of, would be an excellent tool as I have had no trouble since I purchase it in1999.. What do you think? However, if I can get that price I will send it back and exchange for a new DermaglowII. Just a thought. Let me know what you think. I am also enclosing a picture of the Parisian Med Machine I have. I have found the students are interested in the difference, and actually Dermaglow works just a well as the Parisian Peel Medical Machine. I started doing microdermabrasion in 1995 or 1996, I was scared to death to purchase a machine and have my client’s decide to not do microdermabrasion. It worked out, I offered six treatments with the seventh one free. I charged $85.00 per treatment at that time, remember I live in Wisconsin…

Let me only tell you…the Dermaglow company and the people that are part of the business are experienced, helpful and courteous at all times. If you have a question about your equipment they are always available. If something is not working on your machine and they cannot fix it over the telephone (Mike is the expert), they replace the machine asap! or send out parts to make it work.

The machine itself does not clog, is efficient and it has made my life easier and more successful. I receive constant e-mails through the company about updates to their equipment etc.

This machine is a favorite of several plastic surgery centers and dermatology offices, but it is priced for spa and salon use.  Over 80% of our medical doctors that have ordered our triple panel single port system, buy a second machine within 12 months.

The least expensive of our multiwave systems is the Dual Panel – which you see on our site.  This retails for $5500, right now I would go $3997.  It offers the same wavelength and programming, but it is a dual panel with less LED’s and coverage area.

Below are specs and programming for the Dermaglow Multiwave Triple Panel Single Port as well as a description of why this machine is so special.

The system is a true multi-wave.  Each LED contains multiple color filaments.  This is important in that it allows the practitioner to simply find the correct program, press go and walk away.  Many systems require the operator to either change the panel, or change the controls to change the color.  Since our system has all colors built into the hinged 3 panel light pad, there is no requirement for the operator to change either the pads or the programs.  So for example, if a client needs skin tightening, then you press program #9.  The system uses patented protocols which would start out in red (for example) for 60 seconds, then switch to amber for 90 seconds, then red/infrared for 90 seconds, then calm the skin and increase circulation in green for 45 seconds and so on for 15 minutes.  Each program has its own color variance protocol.  Your operator simply covers the client’s eyes and walks away, the machine works to reedy the issue.  Research suggests that by switching between colors in this way, we can trick the skin into absorbing more energy, which makes the affects of the treatment more powerful in less time.

Multi color filaments and pre-set programming are a key point of differentiation for the Dermaglow Multiwave Deluxe.  You don’t want your operators having to stand by the machine to either change the panels or change the color controls.  This machine does it all for you.  That leaves your operators free to attend to other clients.

Dermaglow is uniquely positioned to answer this question, because our machine does both.

First off, the recommendation I would have is for the Dermaglow II.  Our medical grade is 30% more powerful, $2500 more and for nearly anyone in the business, too much power.  The Dermaglow II starts a client out at 3.5 mercuries per inch and it goes up to 27.   Most of the thousands of clients we have worldwide will never exceed 15.

The Dermaglow II professional and medical microdermabrasion machines will work crystal free – we have an addon to the system that includes 9 separate permanent heads.  It is extra money for the system and I would talk you out of it for the following reasons.

1)      When you have a good crystal based microdermabrasion machine – one that has adequate power, smooth crystal flow delivery, presses crystals on the face as opposed to spraying them and the motor is powerful enough to use larger holes to pull the crystals through, then for both your clients and your technician, aluminum oxide crystals are a better choice.  Think about it this way.  If you are sanding the paint off of a house and you have high spots and low spots, how do you get to the low spots with sandpaper?   Generally speaking you have to sand down the high spots.

2)      Crystal free tips can cause striping, or scratching of the skin, not something you want.  There are no crystal free systems that avoid that, it is a function of the modality.

Diamond tips are an easy engineering solution for microdermabrasion machines.  Crystals require a greater investment.

When you have a mid or lower tier machine, then crystal free is a good choice.  When instead you have a well built system, then my experience, from speaking with hundreds of estheticians every month, is that crystals are favored, both for the practitioner and the client.

If you are sandblasting the paint off of a house, then the crystals do the work and move into the edges and crevices to smooth them out.  It is a smoother treatment, but it has trade offs.  For one, lower quality machines clog.  Most estheticians and clients that want crystal free want it for two reasons;

1. They are used to machines that clog.

2.  They don’t want the mess from the crystals.

We figured out 15 years ago that if you put larger motors and pumps into the machine from the outset, you can use larger holes to pull the crystals through and that eliminates clogging.  The Dermaglow II rarely ever clogs – i.e… I have clients that bought out machine back pre- 2000 who tell me “I am so glad I bought a Dermaglow – my machine never clogs – all my friend’s machines are always clogging”.   The DII does put crystals on the face and those will get in the room, but the mess is minimized by the power of the system, the Dermavortex (patented delivery system that presses crystals on the face rather than spray them on).  So it still uses crystals, but the mess is minimized.

Crystal free tips need to be autoclaved, which is time consuming.

Again – we do crystal free.  If you are using the microdermabrasion machine in the same room with a laser or doing microdermabrasion pre-laser, then that is a good application for crystal free tips.  If that is not the case – I recommend you not make the investment, it is not in your client’s best interest or your esthetician’s (diamond tips require more care by the esthetician).  If you want them – they are $1200 for the nine additional heads.
